On Thursday, September 10, the Carson Law Firm announced a wrongful death lawsuit against Sydney Ezelle and her employer, Archer-United Joint Venture Construction Group, for a September 2024 crash that killed 58-year-old Marilyn Burkett.

We are looking for the truth, and we are searching for responsibility.” Carson continued, “In the filing of this lawsuit, we believe it will show that on September 4th, 2025, Sydney Ezelle consumed alcohol, left the bar, and drove into our client, killing Mrs Marilyn Burkett.
"Driving under the influence is a choice. It's a choice, and it can have devastating consequences not just for the person behind the wheel, but for a family," Christ Hart said.
Hart continued by pointing out, “…over the past 24 months, Archer-United Joint Venture has been sued with their drivers and their company because of litigation involving them with crashes in Richland County… we are not insinuating that these lawsuits establish any type of liability for this lawsuit.” However, these facts lead the Carson Law Team to ask questions that require truthful answers.
